Caravan Next Experience travels even further!
10 conferences were scheduled to take place inside and outside Europe to share the experience of the European social community theatre project Caravan Next all over the world. As the conferences take place in various world cities they bring about even more requests for knowledge about social community theatre. In addition to the many conferences the Caravan Next Project Manager, Per Kap Bech Jensen from Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium – Holstebro, gives a speech in Arko Art Centre in Seoul.
The speech Caravan Next – Artists as Bridge Builders aims on sharing the experience gained through the Caravan Next activities connecting professional artists with communities, in the creation of artistic interventions and events in villages and towns. The speech will present Caravan Next and Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium - Odin Teatret’s way of working to achieve engagement of local citizens and institutions in artistic projects. The lecture is also an opportunity for dialogue with artists and other stake holders on the impact of involving communities in cultural events and how this kind of actions can move cities and build bridges.
From September 2015 till February 2019 the Caravan Next network of European theatre organisations and cultural institutions creates Social Community Theatre events in 16 different European countries. The presentation aim on spreading inspiration, tools and knowledge about social community theatre based on the experiences of the 30 Caravan Next events. European Roots and Shoots - Art Moves cities is organised by the Caravan Next lead partner Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium - Odin Teatret.
The speech will be a presentation of the project and a screening of Highlights of the Caravan Next Macro Event Holstebro, Denmark and a reflective discussion about the basic structure and general challenges in working with social community theatre in Europe.
